NENE TIMES: Now I understand why Jesus told us to have CHILDLIKE FAITH

My son Nathan- 18 months old

NENE TIMES:

Nene: I am upset with you papa.

Papa: OK. Then I am going far away to America.

Nene: I will also come in my car.

Papa: To go to America we have to cross a giant ocean. I will go in an aeroplane. Your car cannot come.

Nene: (Pauses and thinks) I will pray to God and ask him to build a bridge. Then on that bridge I will go to America

Papa: Its a huge ocean. It will take many days to build a bridge.

Nene: (Thinking) I will pray hard to Jesus. Then he will build the bridge.

Papa: Still I think it would be difficult.

Nene: (With great confidence) Why it will be difficult? God created the heavens and earth out of nothing in just a minute. Why can't he build a bridge?

Papa: (blank?????)

THAT'S HOW OUR LITTLE ONE PUT AN END TO THE CONVERSATION

Lord help us have childlike faith

Is anything too hard for the Lord!

Seven years of togetherness! Thank you Lord!

Is anything too hard for the Lord?

As I was reading the book of Ezra (Bible), a Sunday school song came to my mind-“Is anything too hard for the Lord”. And I started mumbling ‘Nothing Lord, nothing. Absolutely nothing’. If we rewind seventy years before the events in the book of Ezra, we will witness anguish of Jews who have lost all hopes. They see their king dethroned and the people being exiled to Babylon. Over the period of seventy years they were ruled by not only one but two different empires. Though I live in a different era, yet I can relate to those Jews to some extent because I know what it means to live without hope. Possibility of change seemed beyond hope. But DELIVERANCE did come. In case of Jews, God moved the hearts of secular rulers to help Jewish people return to their homeland. But in my case it was the PERFECT LOVE of JESUS CHRIST for me which took away all my fears and gave me hope. I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. He became Lord of my life. Though these events unfolded over a decade ago yet it’s so alive and fresh in me. Indeed as Proverbs 21:30 says “There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the LORD”.

Thank you Lord for your faithfulness. Psalm 68:6 says God sets lonely into families. Thank you Lord for blessing me with a wonderful husband. Help both of us to glorify your name.

Are we following worthless idols and forfeiting God's grace?

"Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs". Jonah 2:8

As I was meditating on the book of Jonah, above verse caught my attention. The context is Jonah knew the will of God for his life, yet chose to follow his own will and plans. The end result was he got into deep trouble. In the midst of his trials Jonah calls out to the Lord. He recognizes that he is forfeiting God's grace by running behind worthless idols(my will, my plan, my thoughts). He repents and brings sacrifice of praise before the Lord. Later we see, the deliverance from the Lord was almost immediate. Jonah 2:10 says "And the Lord commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land".

Friends, we are living in a treacherous time. Our adversary, the devil, is prowling around like a roaring lion, seeking to devour anyone he comes across. We cannot survive by forfeiting God's grace. The question is "Is there an area in our life where we have chosen to follow our ways and not His ways (knowingly or unknowingly)?

Lord help us to follow your good, pleasing and perfect WILL always. As we meditate on this verse Lord, give us greater revelation of truth.

God-Incomprehensible

As an immature Christian I always wanted intellectually satisfying answers. I was more interested in head knowledge. But now I know, as the dog cannot understand the psychology of men, our human minds cannot fathom God’s mind. Thank God for the Holy Spirit who dwells in us and touches our hearts every day. Now I know that heart language is different from head language. In Him we live, we move and have our being.

What draws me to JESUS CHRIST?

Lord, Your love for me is unchanging
Even though my love for you changes like shifting shadows.

Lord, You are strong But I am weak.
But now I know when I am weak, I am strong
